Pro-CC Long Tail Torsion Spring Retrofit Drilling Template
Pro-CC Long Tail Torsion Spring Retrofit Drilling Template
The highly requested long tail torsion spring retrofit mounting hole template is here! If you're looking to add the new "Long Tail" torsion springs to your 128/9" or 136/7" Pro-CC equipped Polaris Axys/Matryx machine, this template will locate the new torsion spring mounting hole for you.
Based off the OEM CrossCountry spring location, this template will locate your new mounting hole within 2mm (X/Y axis) of the OEM Polaris location in relation to the front torque arm mount.
On VR1/XC rail applications, due to the rail windows/cutouts, there is roughly 1/4" to 3/8" of material remaining behind the new bolt hole to the nearest cutout, it is tight fit between idler wheel mount and cutout opening. I have put 2k hard miles on my VR1 build with zero issues. If this spacing makes you nervous, you can certainly mark the new template location, then drill slightly up and forward of it if you feel necessary.
This template is for marking the location of the new hole to be drilled, I do not recommend drilling with the template installed, simply use this to make your center punch mark.
Template requires front torque arm to be removed from the rail and is generally easiest to do with the skid removed from the machine, however I'm sure some of y'all will pull it off with the skid still installed!
